Chris Evans Poo-Poos F3

March 24, 2008 by Admin

evans.jpgOkay so I was on MTV’s website recently and purely by accident came across this on their recently added headlines in the sidebar: ‘Fantastic Four 3′ Probably Not Happening, Reveals Chris Evans. I was like “RUTT-RO!?” total double take. So I read the article which goes onto report what Evans said in an interview…Here’s an excerpt from that interview:

“I’m pretty sure we won’t do [another] one,” insisted “Fantastic Four” star Chris Evans, who excelled in two films as the Human Torch. “I’m assuming that one is a closed book.”

Hello? Did he just say it was a ‘closed book’…okay I just re-read the line so I know he did indeed say that. WTF!? Excuse my harsh use of capital letters. Is he for real? I know that critics and the pajama nazi bloggers hated the film. But both movies did an unbelievably well $300 million total domestically. What does that mean boys and girls with calculators that could program my TiVo? (the calculators I mean, not the boys and girls)

It means that any sane studio would be chomping at the bit to pull a three-peat of the Fantastic Four variety and give the green light on a sequel. The MTV story goes onto say that both Alba and Chiklis are game for another spin in the Fantasticar. Both stars even went so far as to offer up storyline concepts, to which Evans says:

“After the first one was released we got wind of potential titles and plots [almost immediately], and I’ve heard nothing from anyone at Fox [yet],” he grumbled. “We had all planned on doing [another] one but if there were going to be a third I think a week after the second one was released we would have heard.”

Because I’m sure the studio was clamoring to get you on the film after “Not Another Teen Movie” did stellar numbers! The MTV article continues to show Evans ignorance to his fan base by quoting an earlier interview they’d had with him:

“I still think this can be something great, and I think we are getting closer,” he said at the time. “”I think that if ["FF2?] does ok and people respond with the appreciation of a more serious tone, hopefully [with] the third one we can inch closer to a legitimate cast and a legitimate film.”

LEGITIMATE?! Dude! Get off your high horse. When Michael Keaton hung up his tights after BATMAN RETURNS I was happy with that. He’s an awesome actor and frankly the fact we got two great Bat-flicks out of him was great. But for Chris Evans, a former nobody who did hack parts - badly to say the first two films have been illegitimate…(let’s do the math - if something needs to become legitimate it is obviously being considered ‘illigetimate’ at the time).

“It takes up a lot of time. It’s a big commitment,” he said. “I’m happy with walking away.”

‘Commitment’!? Dude it’s a paycheck! Dennis Hopper isn’t doing insurance ads for his (pardon the pun) health! He’s doing them to pay the rent. IMHO, Chris Evans is a tard for having this mentality. It’s the same mentality that has the Actors about to strike, it was the same mentality that had the Writer’s Strike…now I’m not saying I didn’t agree with them but COME ON!!!
