Sanctuary Spins Up

Production begins this month on webshow turned full blown SCIFI Channel original series Sanctuary, which will shoot in Vancouver (well duuuh), the show will be a CG fest being filmed in like manner to bigger box office offerings such as ‘300′ and ‘Sin City’. See…everyone thought Lucas was a nut bar for doing 90% of the last three STAR WARS flicks CG but its the new thang…who needs props and sets when you can CG it all and make it look awesome….moving on…

The 13 first season of the hour long drama premiers in the fall.

Sanctuary stars STARGATE SG1/ATLANTIS star Amanda Tapping as Dr. Helen Magnus, an immortal babe (I say babe because if you go to the official webshow website - try saying that five times fast - located at sanctuaryforall.com you’ll see that Tapping is in rare “sexified” form, boustie included).

Dr. Magnus tracks mysterious creatures/monsters, helps the helpless monsters (oxymoron much?) and protects the world from the truly dangerous monsters…who knew that there was a distinction. She joined by her daughter, Ashley (Emilie Ullerup), a goofy tech geek Henry and new recruit Will (Robin Dunne), a brilliant young psychiatrist/profiler with a knack for finding the strange and unusual.

Series creator Damian Kindler (you’ll recognize that name from the likes of Stargate SG-1) and producer/director Martin Wood (collaborator on Atlantis) executive producer and double duty as the ’show runners’. Sam Egan (Masters of Science Fiction) and Tapping also serve as executive producers.
