Kirk vs. Spock

Without the fun of the “Amok Time” theme music, Trek icon, William Shatner said in his new autobiography that he blames a bitter feud with fellow Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy for marring his time on the series. The actor, who shot to fame as Captain Kirk in the original 1960s TV show, states tensions built up between himself and Nimoy after the dueling pair indulged in a bout of verbal spats on set.

In his book, Up Till Now, Shatner explains how Nimoy thought he was “a real son of a b*tch”. And he adds that the actor took his on-set comments the wrong way: “(Nimoy) thought I betrayed him for the amusement of others.”

See…the healing power of the con.

Spock’s…Nose?

March 27, 2008 by Admin · Leave a Comment

spocksnose.jpgOkay so it turns out that silly things happen to the best of us…earlier in the week, The New York Observer website reported that Trek icon, Leonard Nimoy apparently fell (to which my wife burst out in laughter - her love of the pratfall notwithstanding) and injured his (of all things) nose while on the set of the new movie. The Observer went on to report that:

A group of set designers and grips were overheard discussing Mr. Nimoy’s fall.

“You know the sets are so dark and he’s an old guy,” said a makeup artist of the actor, who turns 77 on Wednesday, March 26. “He must have just tripped.”

“There was some talk about using a double and how they were making a wig for the double, so that the guy would look more like Leonard Nimoy,” said the original source. “But then they ended up using Leonard Nimoy.”

And just to ease everyone’s minds…the ears, are perfectly fine.
